Vice President Speech
First and foremost, I would like to thank you all for being here today and allowing me to share our ideas with you, and allowing yourselves to hear what I have to say. My name is Tyler Salmeri, and I am running for the title of Vice President, alongside Albert, of our country. I am standing here before you today as a diplomat, so that I may encourage you all, who share Albert and I’s plan and ideas, and perhaps argue with those who do not, for freedom of expression, differing opinions and argument is the foundation of democracy. That being said, Albert, myself, and our competitors all share the same ambition here today. To make a better America. And with that being said, allow me to tell you why we’re better than them. I, as a Vice President, will have the audacity and valor to discuss with you, the people, controversial subjects most other politicians wouldn’t even look in the direction of. Yes, I will discuss economics with you all. Yes, I will discuss education with you all. Yes, I will discuss foreign affairs with you all. Topics, you all may not want to hear, but topics, and problems we need to come together to solve. I, as a Vice president, will listen to what the people have to say, for Albert and I will not be the leaders of *The* United States, but *your* United States. We will be *your* representatives, we will push *your* ideals. For what we, as a people, believe we should do to better America, to better our futures. We will not be your kings, we will be your chosen, your voice, the mouth of America. However, sometimes actions speak louder than words. A famous man once said “Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.” Words are nothing without action, our words may be soft, but they will be heard, and our actions, witnessed. Roosevelt had built up his Navy to the strongest in the world, and when negotiating with foreign nations about international issues he would not be be scared when people say no or disagreed with him because he has the strongest Navy and knows how to use it. Today America has the 3rd largest military in the world with 1.4 million soldiers while the largest military, China, which has roughly around 2.2 million soldiers. I believe that if will once again try to increase our Military and make it stronger, we will be able to defeat terrorism around the world. With having one of the largest and strongest militaries we will be able to gain support from fellow members in the United Nations to going into places that need our support and to take down the evil in the world. Theodore Roosevelt wanted to make sure that the people of his nation had a strong economy. He came up with a plan called the Square Deal. The Square Deal was the regulation on railroads rates and pure foods and drugs; he saw it as a fair deal for both the average citizen and the businessmen. Theodore Roosevelt always wanted to avoid labor strifes. As Vice President I plan on being very involved with all workers to ensure their safety and fair pay. As Vice President it is important that I get involved in the economy to make sure everything is running as smooth as can be. I would love it if we were able to cut down on taxes for the lower and middle class, so that they can live a good life. From 2009-2015 the labor participation rate went from 66% in January to, 60% in December 2015. Voting for Albert and I, we plan on getting more Americans involved in the workforce. For gun control in schools we are going to enforce that students wear their ids around there neck to make it a safer learning place/environment. We are going to increase the teachers salary, to attract more intelligent people to become teachers. Every year there are more and more high school dropouts. Everyday in America there are 7,000 high school dropouts. That's 1.2 million a year. With our education plan we will lower the dropout rate and increase our High school graduation rate. By voting for me and my running mate, you are supporting the change that this country needs. Rather than being influenced by the wealthy, upper class, we take into account the opinions and needs of the millions of middle class families in America. In addition, we will ensure that our reforms, if passed, will live up to their expectations in developing a well run economic system that doesn’t funnel all capital towards the upper class. Thank you for listening, god bless America.
President Speech
Are you one of the millions of Americans seeking a stable economy and a safe zone for your children to live in? If so, look no further than the future 46th President of The United States of America, Albert Cepeda. One trait that many leaders of America have lacked in past years is perseverance. I can say that through my numerous years of wrestling, I have learned to overcome adversity and endure hardships, and these skills can easily translate into the political field. Unlike presidents of the past, when problems start to boil up in our nation and people start to back away, I will not panic and make the wrong decision. My past experiences have taught myself that I perform best under pressure when I am calm, cool, and relaxed. The reason I am here today is to show our country that anybody can run a country if they believe in themselves. I am sick and tired of the reforms passed that heavily favor upper class America, rather than the majority of the nation, the hard working middle class. A vote today will set not only you, but your future generations to come in the right path.
Possibly the most pressing issue at the moment is the ever-growing threat of The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. ISIS is a terrorist group that feeds on our fears. They have attacked many other strong european nations that share our westerns ways. They have emerged as a serious threat to America and our people. SInce 2013 they are responsible for 70 attacks in 20 different countries. A terrorist organization focused on disturbing our western way of life and to put an end to anyone and everyone who opposes their religious lifestyle. I assure you, as your president, I would never allow that to happen. Like the countless amount of evil, malevolent rebellion groups before it, ISIS will no longer be even a thought.
One major problem that the United States has always faced is debt. As of March 2017 the amount of debt that this nation was in $19.9 trillion, and it is not getting any better. Regardless of what we do with taxes, we must cut down on the amount the government is spending. If we cut down on unnecessary government spending it will help our debt problem. Healthcare costs also pile up and become a problem for our people. Medicare now accounts for 15% of the total federal budget and 21% of total national health care spending. We must focus on making healthcare costs more affordable for the people of this country. The U.S. spends more on its military than the next fourteen countries on the list combined. We have become the world’s police. For sure we need to cut the waste out of military budgets and find the right level of spending. But let’s not forget our role in defending freedom, democracy, and human rights around the world. Let’s not reduce our capabilities to a level where we become irrelevant to supporting those goals.
One of the biggest problems that exist in our education is our dropout and graduation rate. Our graduation rate 80%, which we will increase to make our country smarter and give hope for future of the nation. In the U.S., high school dropouts commit about 75% of crimes. When we decrease our dropout rates we will also decrease our crime and make America safer. Recently in the news, we have heard about school shootings and some many sad stories that come with it. There have been 17 school shootings in just the first 2 months of 2018 and 290 since 2013. To prevent future we will insure that all students are learning in a safe and secure environment. Tests like the SAT and ACT show colleges your skills and ability. In 2015, under 40% of America's Students scored a “College ready” score. Our High School students are not prepared going into college and we will fix it. We will not only make our schools safer, but we will improve our students ability to do work, improve their college readiness and increase our nations graduation rates.
As we conclude, I hope that after today you all have clear, open minds on the future of our country. If you want change, your looking at the right person. What the future generation needs is a leader who is not afraid to make the right decisions when the pressure is on. The fate of our country lies in your hands.
